Stripe

Stripe is the default choice for developer-first payments — subscriptions, one-off checkouts, invoicing, and a mature webhook system, with SDKs for pretty much every stack.

Should you use Stripe?

Pick Stripe when you want direct control over your billing logic and need the broadest set of stack integrations. It's the default for a reason, but that control comes with more implementation and tax-compliance work than a merchant-of-record option like Lemon Squeezy or Paddle.

Pricing model
Pay-as-you-go, ~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (varies by region/card). Tax compliance is on you, or via the separate Stripe Tax add-on.
Best for
Teams that want full control over checkout and billing logic, and the widest ecosystem of integrations.
